Daughter-in-law snubbed me on Easter. So hurt!!?

This past Easter was my granddaughter's first Easter. I was hoping to spend it with my son, DIL and my granddaughter. That was not to be. DIL decided my granddaughter's first Easter, like all her other "firsts" were to be spent with HER family. When I found out there was to be a big party at DIL's parents' house, along with an Easter hunt, I asked my son to ask his inlaws if I could attend. The answer was a big, fat no. My son said that DIL said this was an event for just her family and that it was in bad taste to nose around for an invite when I was not invited to attend in the first place. I am so hurt! Was I wrong?
