Make sure he's in a calm, quiet environment and that will encourage him to rest and heal. Don't wake him up from sleep, try and make sure he's getting all the sleep he wants without being disturbed. Speak again to your vet about soft foods and the amounts appropriate to his size and breed, considering he can do no exercise at the moment. When he is not sleeping simply spend some time near him, often just having someone near a puppy can be enough to calm them and prevent them being 'bored'.
