What should I do/think about this guy?

We have been talking for almost 3 months. Last weekend we became official bf/gf and by Sunday we were breaking up. He said he wasn't ready for a relationship (him and an ex of 2 years had recently broken up and she broke his heart). So even though i was really upset I said okay and he said he wanted to be friends for now. So I agreed. Well he still talks to me all the time and invited me over last night to hang out with him and his friends. We didnt sit together but he texted me the whole time and after i left sent me a txt saying "you dont know how bad i wanted a snuggle partner" to which i replied "yeah me too but friends dont snuggle". He said he knew with a sad smiley face and then we said goodnight. Going into the night i decided that if he put out just the friend vibe then i could handle that but it mixes with my emotions for him to still say things like that, because I do want to be with him. Any help would be appreciated!
